Two Meets This Week for West Potomac Track and Field

This week we will be competing in two meets, athletes will either compete on Friday evening at Tri-Meet vs. South County and Wakefield, or the =PR= Holiday Invitational. No athletes will compete in both.

We realize that Winter Break is coinciding with the next three meets and thank you to everyone who has informed their coaches if they will not be available for any of the competitions.  If you have not notified your respective events coach yet please do so IMMEDIATELY.

Friday, 12/21: Tri-Meet vs. South County & Wakefield

TJ Community Center/Middle School (Arlington, VA)

Athletes:

·      Bus will depart at 4:10pm.

·      There are NO SPIKES permitted at this facility, please take all implements out of your competition shoes.

·      Lineups will be sent out Wednesday evening.

·      We will be responsible for hurdle crew; coaches will let athletes know who is on the hurdle crew.

Parents:

·      We need volunteer timers for this meet (3-4)

·      Please note this is NOT TJ High School, this meet is at the Middle School and Community Center in Arlington.

o   Directions to Thomas Jefferson Middle School in Arlington - 3501 2nd St S, Arlington, VA 22204 Take Route 1 North through Old Town and turn left on Glebe Road VA-120. Go 3.5 miles and turn right onto 2nd Ave. TJ Rec Center is on left.

·      Please remember you are not permitted on the infield (coaches and athletes only).

·      If you would like to drive your athlete home from the meet, please get permission from your respective events coach by Thursday 12/20.

      Note: Some athletes who are not competing at the Tri-Meet will be expected to attend to help with hurdles. Coaches will notify those athletes expected to attend. 

Saturday, 12/22: =PR= Holiday Invitational

PG Sportsplex (Landover, MD)

·      There are limited entries for this meet; lineups will be sent out Wednesday.  Athletes can check in with their respective events coach on Monday to inquire the likelihood of being selected for this meet.

·      There is no bus to this meet, arrival times will be sent out after a tentative schedule is posted.
