Gymafi Wins and State Qualifies in the Discus at Nike Spring Invitational

West Potomac placed 7th in the girls team scores and 10th in the boys team competition at this year’s Nike Spring Invitational.  The Wolverines made the most of the evening meet, with athletes continuing to improve as the team gears up for the championships season in less than two weeks.  Mychael Gyamfi led the way as he became the first member of both teams to qualify for states this season, winning the Discus with a new personal best of 153-00.

Placing in the top six for the boys team was freshmen Brad Schaefer, who was second in the Freshmen 100m.  Lozie Goolsby was second in the High Jump as he improved his regional mark to 6’2” and also placed fourth in the 400m.
