Ten athletes from the West Potomac indoor track squad
competed in the Northern Region Championships this Saturday at the George Mason
University Fieldhouse.
The boys and girls 4 x 800 relays each finished fourth in
their events, one place shy of advancement to the state championship meet. The
team of Luca Halladay, Crispin Bernier, Cullen O’Boyle and Corey Rosenberg
clocked a time of 8.11:53, seven seconds faster than their regional qualifying
time at districts. The girls team of Kristi Snow, Katie Genuario, Sophia
Passacantando and Lauren Price finished in 9:46:15.

Halladay, Bernier and Rosenberg were joined by Lozie Goolsby
for the boys 4 x 400 meter relay, which finished 10th in 3:39:05.

In individual events, Lozie Goolsby cleared 5’08” in the
high jump, but did not qualify to move on to the state championships.
Lauren Price and Sophia Passacantando finished 15th and 16th respectively in the
girls 1000 meter run, with times of 3:12:29 and 3:17.68.

Corey Rosenberg and Crispin Bernier finished 19th
and 22nd respectively in the boys 1000 meter run, with times of
2:42:17 and 2:44:12.

Katie Murray finished 14th in the girls 3200
meter run with a time of 11:53:66.
